Dress Code for Graduates who are not civil servants

For Male Graduates

  • Plain white long sleeve shirt with BU tie in black or navy blue, worn over with a suit in black or navy blue
  • Long trousers in a matching color of the suit
  • Dress shoes in solid black with no accessories and black socks
  • BU belt
  • Appropriate Hairstyle, with no facial hair
  • Wear Academic Gown

For Female Graduates

  • Wear plain white short- sleeve blouse, with BU buttons and neck pin
  • Knee length skirt in black or navy blue
  • BU belt
  • Plain stocking in beige color
  • Closed toe-shoes in black, with no metal/shiny accessories
  • Appropriate Hairstyle, without bright/neon colors
  • Wear Academic Gown

Dress Code for Graduates who are government officials

Civil Servants

  • Wear full white dress uniform
  • Wear Academic Gown

Civil Servants or Arm Forces or Commissioned Officer

  • Wear full dress white uniform, without a cap
  • with ceremonial sword
  • Bring white gloves
  • Wear Academic Gown

Civil Servants or Arm Forces or Non-Commissioned Officer

  • Wear uniform
  • With ceremonial sword
  • Bring white gloves
  • Wear Academic Gown

Left-handed Graduates or Graduates with walking cane or wheelchair

  • Left-handed Graduates should notify your instructors on the Rehearsal Day for the Commencement Ceremony
  • Graduates with limb injuries or those with vision impairment or those who need walking cane or wheelchair should notify your instructors on the Rehearsal Day for the Commencement Ceremony

Procedures for the Rehearsal Day or the Commencement Ceremony

  • Follow Dress Code
  • Wear no accessories
  • Wear appropriate hairstyle without bright or neon colors
  • Bright nail polished are not recommended.
  • Do not bring any bags/handbags or camera into the ceremonial hall
  • Do not bring food or drinks or snacks into the ceremonial hall
  • Turn off all communication devices
  • Be punctual for roll call and registration
  • Must attend the Rehearsal for the Commencement Ceremony
